A lot of the playground detail here — the swings, the ground material, which parks actually have bathrooms — comes from LC Park Mom, who visits and writes up Lake County playgrounds. Follow her for more park updates: Facebook · Instagram @lcparkmom

A handful of starred playgrounds sit well outside our usual radius — Algonquin, McHenry, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates. Those come from O the Places We Go, who cover family adventures across Chicagoland and the Midwest. Worth the drive, and worth a follow: otheplaceswego.com · Facebook

Curious how this was built?

This whole site — 1,900+ events, the calendar, the parks map — was built with Claude Code, an AI coding tool, by a busy mom in the margins of the day. If you've been wondering how to actually use AI to build something real, I'd genuinely love to show you how to get started.
